MEET THE VOICE OF THE FARMINGTON PRCA RODEO – TREY WINDHORST!
For over 15 years, Trey Windhorst has been bringing the electricity of rodeo action to life from behind the microphone. A PRCA announcer for 12 years, Trey has traveled the country, calling the action at PRCA rodeos, PBR events, and countless other rodeos, but one of his favorite stops each year is right here in Farmington, Missouri!
Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Trey started his rodeo career as a bull rider, earning a rodeo scholarship to Murray State University. It was there that fate stepped in—his rodeo coach handed him a microphone, and Trey quickly discovered his true calling. Since then, he’s swapped out his bull rope for a headset, dedicating his career to keeping crowds engaged, informed, and on the edge of their seats.
For the past 12 years, Trey has had the honor of announcing the Regional PRCA Rodeo in Farmington, bringing fans closer to the action, sharing the stories of the incredible cowboys and cowgirls, and delivering the heart-pounding excitement that makes rodeo America’s original extreme sport.
When he’s not calling the shots in the arena, Trey lives in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, with his wife, Amber, and their three children, Ollivia, Piper, and Ollie.
Don’t miss out on the Farmington PRCA Rodeo—where world-class rodeo action meets an announcer who lives and breathes the sport! Get ready for an unforgettable experience!

Photography/Media- Avid Visual Imagery Rodeo Photography
At the age of 24 Phillip was consumed with the need to serve in the military, his family has a long lineage of military service, and he felt the need to carry on the tradition. In September of 2000, Phillip enlisted in the United States Army as an infantryman. In October of 2000, Phillip began basic training in Fort Benning, Georgia. He completed training in February of 2001 and was honored with his first assignment the 3rd U.S. Infantry (The Old Guard) in Washington D.C. The Old Guard the official ceremonial unit for the United States Army and performs military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.
On the fateful day of September 11th, Phillip was less than a mile from the Pentagon during the attack. His unit went on to perform recovery duties after the attack. This series of events led to his reenlistment in the Army, and he was eventually reassigned to Fort Wainwright, Alaska. It was in Alaska where Phillip did his first tour in Iraq, it was during this tour with the 172nd Stryker Brigade that his unit was extended after 12 months of combat and relocated from Mosul Iraq to Baghdad. During this tour Phillip reenlisted and was reassigned to Fort Riley Kansas.
Again, Phillip was sent on a combat tour in Iraq from Fort Riley, which had him again working in the Baghdad area. It was during one of these combat tours that Phillip and his unit was attacked by a suicide car bomber. During this attack, Phillip sustained injuries that forced him to retire from military service earlier than he would have chosen.
Phillip served 12 years of service and retired in 2011 as a Sergeant First Class (E-7)
During his recovery from injuries and during his retirement process Phillip and his family searched for sources of therapy. His oldest daughter knew that Phillip had always had an interest in photography and knew that he came from a large family of avid hobbyists and professional photographers. This is when she purchased him a camera for Father’s Day.
In 2015 Phillip was awarded his PRCA permit, and he began his pro rodeo photography career. In his first year, the family worked hard to fill the 5 rodeos they needed to complete their permit process. In 2016 Phillip started the year on full cardholder status
As of 2024 Phillip, his family, and Avid Visual Imagery have been honored to be selected as the 2021 National Finals Rodeo Arena Photographer, 4 times the Great Lakes Circuit Finals Photographer the 2024 Legacy Award Winner for the Bull Riding Hall of Fame, and is excited to be attending the First Frontier Circuit Finals Rodeo.
